Choosing the Best Outdoor Toys for your Child
1. Choose toys that match your child's interests.
If your son jumps on the furniture all day, consider an outdoor set that has plenty of jumping and climbing opportunities, like a bouncy house or ball pit. If your daughter loves to play in the bathtub, consider toys that squirt or sprinkle water, or even an age appropriate set of pool toys.
2. Choose toys that are sturdy and durable.
Look for a strong and sturdy toys set for your child. Toddlers can be hard on their belongings—banging them together, chewing on edges, and simply dropping them to the ground. Choose quality toys that will stand up to vigorous play. Choose a quality set made of tough plastic, thick vinyl, or wood. Keep in mind that the toy you choose should be able to withstand being outside. Items made from cloth may not hold up well to the elements, and should be stored indoors.
3. Choose age appropriate toys.
How big is your child? This is a key factor consider when purchasing outdoor toys. Very young toddlers are likely to enjoy a trampoline or bouncy house just as much as their older siblings do, so be sure that the toy you choose is ideal for all age ranges. Choosing the right outdoor toys for your toddlers will guarantee years of outdoor fun.
4. Bouncy houses and similar toys should be large enough for several children to play in.
A bouncy house or ball pit may be shared by several children. By choosing a set with room to play, you will head off conflicts and avoid fights. Consider some matching accessories to expand your play possibilities, especially if you have or host multiple children. Tossing an extra set of balls in to the pit will help as well.
5. Look for a great price, but keep quality in mind.
Good quality outdoor toys will be more expensive than cheaply made ones. Kids can be hard on the toys that they love, so invest in a good quality set. You will get much more use from a quality item. If you have more than one child, good outdoor toys can be an investment that will provide years of enjoyment for your whole family.
6. Shop online, and let your child help.
Do your outdoor toy shopping online, and let your child help choose the items they like. By shopping online, you will not only save time and money, you will be able to compare multiple pieces side by side, and get an idea of which items suit your family best. Quality outdoor toys can also be very heavy, so having them delivered to your door is a nice benefit as well!
When you are ready to choose some new outdoor toys for your child, keep these tips in mind, and you will ensure that the toys you choose will the best ones for your family.

Stocking Stuffers For Girls At Christmas
Here are some great stocking stuffers for girls:
- Mini stuffed animals, or “bobble head” animals. Pretend pets are some of the most popular characters at all the schools right now and they are available in a variety of sizes. These are adorable little animals that girls of all ages love to collect and carry them with them wherever they go! The smallest ones will make great stocking stuffers and you are sure to be able to find one of her favorite animal! Some even double as water toys.
- Pens and pencils don’t always spring to mind when you think of great stocking stuffers, personalized pencils with cute erasers are easy to find. You will delight her and supply her with needed school supplies at the same time. Matching stick-it notes or a personalized memo pad make great additions as well.
- Lip balm has come a long way from just a tube of wax you put on your mouth to prevent chapping. Now, you can get soda flavored ones, glittery ones, and many, many others. They are lots of fun and practical, too! Add one, or add a dozen to her stocking this Christmas.
- Socks that feature her favorite past-time or her favorite animal or that just suit her individual style make a fun addition as well.
- Charm bracelets are still a favorite of girls and they give you something to fall back on when you can’t think of a gift for another occasion. There is always room for one more charm. If you are including a charm by itself, make sure you put it in a little box or bag—otherwise it may be overlooked or lost in the “toe” of the stocking!
- Get her a watch with her favorite character (for younger girls) or a grown up “first real watch” if she is twelve or older.
- Go to your local dollar or craft store to find the miniature versions of some old favorites. Etch-a-sketch is one of the popular games and so is the Fishing Game. You can also find little dolls or figurines that are inexpensive but adorable!
- A cute flash drive is one of the hot accessories for tweens and teens and you can find collectibles that she can use every day. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes including animals and other fun shapes!
- There are now text and chat toys that require no monthly fees or service plans for them to communicate with friends with the same device within a certain area.
- A mini digital camera will help her improve her photography skills while taking shots of all of her friends!
- Stickers and scrapbook items featuring favorite items are fun to include—especially if one of her “main” presents is a camera or scrapbook.
Take the time to fill her stocking with an assortment of fun and clever items, and she will be delighted on Christmas morning.

Ride-On Toys Review
Young children absolutely love ride-on toys. As soon as they're able to master the coordination required to make them go via foot to floor power, to pedal them, or to negotiate the steering and foot pedal on battery powered ride on toys, they're off and running - err, driving, that is.
They can't get enough of them. Ride-on toys are like a ticket to independence for toddlers, and since many also look like or mimic the vehicles adults drives, they love to pretend they're "driving" just like mom and dad.
Floor to Foot Power
There are such a variety of ride-on toys these days that it can be hard to decide what to choose. Certainly, for very young children, like toddlers, a foot to floor ride-on toy is the best option. Toddlers can have a car all their own and become mobile via their own foot to floor power, so you don't have to worry they'll go too fast or injure themselves. There are blue foot to floor ride-on cars for boys, pink for girls, and even princess cars and ambulances, but my personal favorite is the adorable airplane. There are even foot to floor ride-on toys that look like a mouse, a dump truck, and a hummer.
Pedal Power
As the child becomes more coordinated and learns to pedal, three wheel ride-on toys like traditional tricycles or Big Wheels are the perfect next step. But there are lots more pedal ride-on options, as well - airplanes, red and green tractors, forklifts, construction loaders, tractors with front loaders, dump trucks, front loaders, and even farm tractors with trailers to haul dolls or blocks or dirt or whatever suits their fancy at the time. There are also some very stylin' pedal automobiles - like the Mercedes, red Ferrari, and red BMW convertible and an entire line of sports team themed pedal cars.
My personal favorites in this line are the vintage look car pedal toys. The ™65 Ford Mustang in dark blue or bright red; the ™65 Ford Shelby GT-350; the 1932 Ford Roadster - either in pink, red, or in black with flames; and the 1932 tow truck, fire truck, or police car all look incredible, and any parent who is a fan of vintage cars or antiques will want one of these for their child. Of the entire line, the American Retro Limited Edition Burgundy Roadster impressed me the most with its appearance.
Battery Operated
And finally, after a child has reached 3 years of age, you may want to consider a battery powered ride-on toy. It's important, however, that these in particular be operated only with adult supervision and that your child has the skills necessary to comprehend the effects of moving the steering wheel a particular way and the stop and go foot pedal mechanism before you let them get on one of these. Chances are, if your child has had one of the pedal versions, he or she will have a good grasp of steering already and then you just need to explain the foot pedal.
The variety of battery operated ride-on toys is just as extensive as the pedal powered ride-ons. You can choose from many styles of cars, trucks, motorcycle, crotch rockets, ATVs, go karts, Jeeps, race cars, and dune buggies. There are modern sports cars - like the Jaguar, Ferrari, Porsche, and many more - as well as a classic car and even a baby "bug" (i.e., Volkswagen Beatle).
Obviously, the battery operated models are also going to be the most expensive, but if you watch for sales, you can save a bit on these, too. If you're looking for one really great gift for your child this year, a ride-on toy makes a fabulous birthday or Christmas present he or she will never forget!

Swimming Pool Toy Review - Squiddy Water Toy
Squiddy is durably made and uses 2 AA batteries. Simply pop open Squiddy pool toy like you would an Easter egg and insert the batteries. Manufacturer recommends Energizer or Duracell for best performance - not offbrand batteries. Many parents use this toy to help teach their kids to swim because it moves so quickly and so randomly that kids just have to follow it. Dogs love this toy too! My dogs will chase this toy around the pool for fun - great exercise too.
